– About

Promoting civic education without boundaries since 2009

Sapere Aude is a 40-member non-governmental, non-profit organization for the promotion of civic education based in Vienna, Austria. Founded in 2009 in response to the lowering of the voting age at Austrian federal elections, it began with the only Austrian basic civic education programme for young people, regardless of social or educational background, party affiliation, or thematic limits.

Since then, Sapere Aude has extended its offer to specific workshop series and vocational trainings for teachers, students and youth workers, becoming one of the most prominent NGOs in non-partisan civic education in Austria.
